This is Santosh Varma, I am medical student from india and this blog is a summary about my clinical experiences in general medicine department . General medicine is a broad term for clinical medicine as i have learned a lot about different  systems in human body and how to proceed to further case study

We had an open platform where we could discuss things and we approached our HOD sir and seniors directly many times where our doubts were cleared with an open mind without any judgement. As medical students we learned a lot of different ways to diagnose and treat a patient in different scenarios practically bedside rather than studying books for hours and hours. I am very much excited to share this journey over the past 3 years

NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE E LOGBOOK TO DISCUSS OUR PATIENT'S DE-IDENTIFIED HEALTH DATA SHARED AFTER TAKING HIS/HER GUARDIAN'S SIGNED INFORMED CONSENT. HERE WE DISCUSS OUR INDIVIDUAL PATIENT'S PROBLEMS THROUGH A SERIES OF INPUTS FROM THE AVAILABLE GLOBAL ONLINE COMMUNITY OF EXPERTS INTENDING TO SOLVE THOSE CLINICAL PROBLEMS WITH COLLECTIVE CURRENT BEST EVIDENCE-BASED INPUT

My first case was about a patient who was 27 years old  is being going through dialysis procedure due to his prior bilateral kidney failure two years back , at first patient was seem to be normal and after I approached him then he said that he experinced with vomiting regularly for 45 days continously, 2 years back. At that time he also noticed that he has Oedema around his both ankles and he has also difficulty on walking normally.

The further treatment was done along with investigations. You can take a detailed report of the case in my blog:

This is another case where a patient aged 60 yrs presented with chief complaints of short of breath since 1 week and cough with sputum since 8 days

he developed swelling in the right leg which was insidious in onset, progressive and pitting type and was diagnosed as filariasis for no intervention has been done. He had history of trauma to the left leg 3 yrs back which was been operated and corrected the multiple fractures. Patient had history of decreased urine output since 20 days due to urethral stricture and treatment by dilation.

My conclusion is that medicine clinical postings and rotations are very important memories and experiences for my future career

The medicine rotations helped me by

1 building the foundation on medicine feild

2 a great amount of clinical and para clinical exposure

3 rotations in various departments

4 learnings from peers and patints

Though the above summary may not provide much information but I can present myself learning undergraduate and want to further explore the world of general medicine

Thank you
